Lakeside 370 Park Water & Sewer System

Project Description

Lakeside 370 Park Water System, Sewer System, and Parks and Recreation Design

This project illustrates I&L’s experience in large-scale, wide-range multi-faceted engineering design – including a sanitary sewer system, water system distribution, water system expansion, roadway, pavement, trails, park facilities, recreation, utility coordination, flood analysis, and more.

The City of St. Peters retained I&L to design Lakeside 370 Park, a new 300-acre park with a 140-acre recreational lake. All park facilities are designed to be submerged 20 feet deep during flood events.

The Water System expansion included approximately 5,900 feet of water main. The Sanitary Sewer system included 2,200 feet of low head sanitary force main, 2,300 feet of gravity sewer, 2 duplex sanitary lift stations, aerators and control system, and 30,000 gallon capacity passive sanitary storage tanks. The new utility systems extended the length of the park and connected to 8 “pods” (200 full-service RV spaces total), 6 pavilions, 3 comfort stations, boathouse, boat launch, parking, and more.

I&L’s ongoing work for this project includes on-call services to design additional “pods” for the RV park, consisting of 25 additional RV spaces with full hookups, including expansion of the water distribution systems and sewer collection.

The design also included: new electric utility systems, campground systems, a marina, boathouse with restaurant, 3,000+ seat amphitheatre, beach area, competition sand volleyball courts, concessions, dog park, adventure playground, archery range, triathlon competition, hiking and biking trails, City sponsored festivals, fishing, non-motarized boating, and a canoe channel through a restored wetland area.

Services included final design and construction documents for grading, utilities, paving, trails, parking, levee repairs, shoreline erosion, breakwater structure, sea wall, harbor with floating boathouse/restaraunt, and more.

Ms. Laurie is a Civil and Architectural Engineer with a strong foundation in civil engineering analysis and design, supported by both academic and early professional experience. She has approximately 15 months of engineering experience, with a primary focus on civil engineering applications. Ms. Laurie has hands-on experience in modeling and analysis using industry-standard tools, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and PCSWMM. She has completed formal training in PCSWMM hydraulic modeling and has applied these skills to support stormwater management and hydraulic analysis efforts. Her technical experience includes civil site layout, stormwater hydrology and hydraulic calculations, utility coordination, and preparation of construction documents. Ms. Laurie has also assisted with construction-related activities, including design inspections, pavement inspections, and concrete testing.
